SUNSET
as I gaze into the sky
and clouds begin to part
the blazing red of sunset does
ignite my restless heart
the remnant blues of evening skies
reflected in the dew
windows to my dreams all filled
with memories of you
the vibrant greens of forest trees
now coming to the fore
remind me of the nurturing love
I want forevermore
now I cannot convey to you
my love in words alone
and lest you fade away from me
I surely must do more
and with such words I give to you
this jewel from my heart
a symbol of my love and hope
that we shall never part
