Forest looks up to the sky
as night begins to fall
the dwindling light does scatter 'round
and hues of pink takes form

she in that moment contemplates
and breathes a weary sigh
wondering how long the time
'till life will pass her by

yet still she holds the hope that man
will realise one day
the part she plays in all that is
and cease to cause her pain

and if the time should ever come
that man should heed her call
her nurturing and endless love
would help us conquer all
